Three Easy Tips for Looking Put Together in Seconds!

7:00 AM

When I was younger my mother used to get horrified when I would try to walk out of the house with wrinkles in my clothes or with my hair just freshly washed (or not brushed) and I used to get so annoyed because I didn’t care! But now that I am in a stage where it’s pretty important to look put together, I appreciate the fuss she made because it helped me develop some habits that I get to implement daily now.

Here are some of the things I do to save a day when I look like a “hot mess”

  1. Carry a beautiful (not too bold or too subtle) lip color with you that will save the day when you don’t have time to put on makeup. Oh, and an eyebrow pencil.
Trust me, the two things that will make you look put together is having your brows right and then adding some color to your face. These are the two ways that have always been fail-proof for me! Lipstick has a magical ability of making it look like you have your life together!
  2. If your hair looks a hot mess, don’t worry, put it up!
There are definitely days when I wake up and my hair looks like a lion’s mane. If I don’t have time to straighten, curl, or style it, really the only option is to hide its ferocity into a classy pulled up ponytail. You can transform a regular ponytail into a really put together look just by wrapping a single strand of hair around it. (See example below!) Dress up your outfit with a pair of statement earrings and you’ll look put together in seconds!

  1. Finally, learn how to dress up a “meh” outfit with classy pieces such as a statement necklace, a blazer, a scarf, a nice pair of shoes. When all of your clothes are in the laundry, use these reliable items to really dress up your outfit and make it look like you have your life together!
